Our Womb to World Medical Advisory Board members are a group of prenatal, neonatal, perinatal and pediatric experts who help us also advocate for healthcare practices and design solutions that help babies thrive.
Dr. Stephen DeMeo is a neonatologist and medical educator who specializes in supporting babies and their mothers on their health journey in the NICU. His devotion to preparing students for their career is highlighted by his interest in curriculum development and medical education research. He also serves as the Regional Assistant Dean for the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine at Campbell University. Dr. DeMeo takes great pride in teaching future generations about the problems that infants are facing in our communities, especially those affected by Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS).

Lauren Heimall is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with an impressive 20-year career in the NICU at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. As a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), her expertise lies in neonatal nursing, neurocritical care, and neonatal skin health. In fact, Lauren served as the NANN representative in the development of the AWHONN Neonatal Skin Care Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline and has co-authored papers exploring diaper dermatitis.

Kati Knudsen, PT, MPT, CNT, PCS, DCS, CLE

Kati Knudsen boasts a 25-year career in neonatal and pediatric physical therapy. She currently serves as Lead Therapist at Providence St. Vincent and Providence Portland Medical Centers, where she oversees physical and occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists in NICU, In-patient Pediatric, and PICU settings. As an active member of the Neonatal Therapy Certification Board (NTCB), Kati has participated in numerous publications and presentations as an advocate for neonatal therapy and the role it plays in infant health.

Dr. Terri Major-Kincade is a double-board certified neonatologist and pediatrician. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UT Health Houston, McGovern Medical school where she serves as the Medical Director for Pediatric Palliative Care at Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital. Dr. Major-Kincade is well-known for her dedication to uncovering and improving perinatal health disparities and working to achieve health equity for all babies and their families. In addition to founding her own consulting business, Dr Terri MD, she serves as a board member of the Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance and is on their Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee.

Charlotte Wool, PhD, RN, FAAN
Associate Professor of Nursing, York College of Pennsylvania; York, PA
Dr. Charlotte Wool is a nurse, scholar, professor, and consultant with expertise in maternal-child research and educational strategies as well as extensive experience in community and consumer education. She has spent her career supporting parents through the entirety of their pregnancy and birth, including postpartum. In addition to teaching at York College, Dr. Wool serves as an adjunct Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she is an expert on perinatal palliative care.
